Why Photography
I've been in the photo business since 2014, full-time since 2016, and while I've certainly had my ups and downs in this business, I love what I do and couldn't imagine giving this up for anything. While creating art is what drew me to photography in the first place and having the freedom of being my own boss keeps me in the business of photography, I live for the experience of creating something new every time I work with a client and genuinely love what I do to the extent that I've passed on other opportunities to continue working for myself in a job I love.
Yes, photography is my job. It's how I pay my bills and is my sole source of income, but I could never imagine doing anything else and if I didn't absolutely love my job, I would hang up my gear tomorrow and never look back. But I do love what I do and I believe you need to love art and photography to truly be able to enjoy the business side of this thing I stumbled into years ago.
What Makes Me Different:
Photography isn't just "point and click" or "pressing buttons" as many people think when they first pick up a DSLR, myself included. Photography is an elaborate art form that takes years - decades - to truly master the many techniques which exist in the world of digital photography. Many photographers fail to achieve this and simply think that because they have purchased a DSLR, they are a "professional", charging clients for photos that fail to meet even basic fundamental standards in moments where there are no "do-overs".
Using only high-quality professional equipment, I take immense pride in my work no matter the job - from simple modeling or acting headshots to once-in-a-lifetime events such as baptisms, sweet sixteen, and engagements - my goal is always the same: to capture exceptional images and create a unique experience tailored to each client's specific needs, leaving that client with captivating images and memories that will last a lifetime.
I have been an active member of Professional Photographers of America since 2018. In 2022, I joined the Professional Photographers' Society of New York State and regularly attend multiple workshops, industry conferences, and trade shows annually to enhance my abilities as a photographer through new techniques, the use of new equipment and technologies, and to enhance client experiences.
